Pakistan skipper Younis Khan won the toss and elected to bat against India at the SuperSport Park, Centurion on Saturday.

According to Ravi Shastri and Wasim Akram the pitch looks dry and flat, almost a sub-continental wicket.

This is the third match on a row on this track.

Akram believes the team that wins the toss will have the advantage if they get a score in excess of 280.

The home team then knocked down the the required runs with 8.5 overs to spare with AB de Villiers top-scoring with an unbeaten 70 to ensure that they are back in contention for a semifinal berth after their 55-run loss to Sri Lanka two days back at the same venue.

De Villiers, who played a solid 76-ball innings, which included nine fours, for his 19 one-day half century was hardly troubled by the Kiwi bowlers. He hit the winning runs - a four - as the home team reached 217 for five in 41.1 overs.

South Africa bowled out New Zealand for 214 runs in 47.5 overs in their Group B match of the ICC Champions Trophy at the SuperSport Park here on Thursday.

Wayne Parnel was the best bowler with his five for 57 while Dale Steyn and Roelof van der Merwe picked up two wickets each. Ross Taylor was the top scorer with 72 while Brendon McCullum made 44.

South Africa captain Graeme Smith won the toss and put New Zealand in to bat in their must-win encounter.

Shane Bond accounts for the second South African wicket in Jacques Kallis after they lost skipper Graeme Smith early.

Daryl Tuffey lured Graeme Smith into chipping one to mid-on, where Kiwi skipper Daniel Vettori was all alert to take an easy catch.

Speedster Shane Bond claimed the second one. Brendon McCullum collected well behind the stumps to make Jacques Kallis head home.

Star opener Herschelle Gibbs remained out of the scheme with his injury, and there were no changes to the Proteas side.

New Zealand, on the other hand, were without Jacob Oram and Ian Butler.

The Kiwis have won three out of the last five ODIs against South Africa. In the only Champions Trophy contest between the two, New Zealand came out on top.

India's chances to win Champions Trophy faced a big blow as the middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh, who injured the little finger of his right hand on Wednesday, has been ruled out of the tournament and will return home.

Virat Kohli has been called up to replace the stylish left-hander, who is expected to stay out of the game for another six weeks, and Gautam Gambhir is named India's Vice-Captain in Yuvraj's absence.

Earlier during a training session in Johannesburg, Yuvraj ended up hurting his right finger so badly that he couldn't participate in the batting and bowling sessions which were conducted later in the day.

India are already an injury-hit side going into the tournament, missing the services of star opener Virender Sehwag, who is nursing a shoulder problem.

Sehwag's fellow opener Gautam Gambhir was also nursing a groin strain ahead of the tournament. Gambhir did not play in the team's only practice match against New Zealand.

Pacer Zaheer Khan is also missing from action due to an injury.

The inexperienced West Indies batting line-up never seemed in a position to counter the fiery Pakistan bowling attack as initially youngster Aamer and Indian Cricket League returnee Rana Naved-ul Hasan ran havoc and then Umar Gul joined the party to dismantle the Caribbeans.

Left-arm pacer Aamer struck as early as in the final ball of the opening over, getting Dale Richards (1) caught and bowled off his own bowling and then Naved-ul-Hasan got the better of Andre Fletcher (7) caught by Imran Nazir with West Indies reeling at 11 for two after 3.6 overs.

Travis Dowlin was the next man to depart without opening his account, edging one to Kamral Akmal off the bowling of Aamer.

One-down Devon Smith (18 off 28 balls) and captain Floyd Reifer (7 off 23) did show some resistance, adding 22 runs for the fifth wicket before Reifer was caught by Misbah-ul Haq off Gul in the 15th over.

After the intial hiccup the West Indies batsmen never got their footing into the match, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Darren Sammy (25 off 37) and Nikita Miller (51) tried their level best to get back the West Indies innings back on track, adding 38 precious runs for the ninth wicket but their efforts were shortlived as off-spinner Saeed Ajmal struck in his first over, dismantling the stumps of dangerman Sammy.

Although down and out of the contest, Miller and Tino Best put on 36 runs for the ninth wicket to take the West Indies score to some respectability before Best was stumped by Akmal off the bowling of Ajmal.

Miller was the last to depart going for a big hit over the long-on boundary off stand-in skipper Shahid Afridi's bowling, only to find Shoaib Malik but not before making a well deserved 51 off 57 deliveries with the help of six fours and one six.
